For 100 years, Tyinholmen has hosted mountain-loving Easter guests. Here, the smell of oranges, sunscreen, quick lunch and glue lingers in the walls, and great skiing experiences await right outside the cabin door.
This year we are offering an Easter program filled with everything from Easter crime and an atmospheric folk concert to lectures about our magical starry sky. The events are either in the fireplace room or the banquet hall after dinner and are open to everyone.
Our kitchen serves homemade food, preferably made from local ingredients, and rakfisk master Ole Skogstad will be there to share his knowledge about the legendary Tyinaur.
After skiing in our magnificent ski terrain, you can reward your muscles with yoga or relax your shoulders in our spacious sauna. And if you would like a course or guided tour, we can arrange this in collaboration with Jotunheimen Event.
Easter program 2026:
Saturday March 28th at 8:30 PM: Welcome to Tyinholmen!
With a fireplace and something delicious in the glass, we present the Easter program, update on skiing conditions and give tips on dream trips for new guests!
Palm Sunday at 8:30 PM: Easter film "Dead Men Ski"
We are repeating the success, and showing "Dead Men Ski", based on Knut Nærum's ironic Easter crime story with high mountains, mysteries, murder and blood in the snow. The film was shot on Tyinholmen, and directors Daniel and Ruben Anda share stories from the filming.
Monday, March 30th at 2030: 100 years of Easter holidays at Tyinholmen
In 1926, Tyinholmen opened its doors for regular Easter operations. Learn about the history of one of Norway's most traditional mountain hotels.
Tuesday, March 31st at 8:30 PM: Get to know our amazing starry sky!
The night sky over Tyin is unique. There is no light pollution here, and few places do the stars shine brighter. Through a popular science lecture by astronomer Henning Holen, you will learn about the starry sky, where you will also get to try out professional telescopes.
Wednesday 1 April at 2030: Welcome to new Easter guests!
With a fireplace and something good in the glass, we welcome new guests, update on skiing conditions and give tips on dream ski trips!
Maundy Thursday at 7:00 PM: Rakfisk team with Ole Skogstad
We invite you to a rakfisk team with Tyinaure from "Mr. Tyin himself", Ole Skogstad. Few know Tyin and Tyinaure better than Ole, and after the meal we gather in the fireplace room to hear Ole talk about trout fishing in Tyin and the art of making the perfect rakfisk.
Good Friday at 20:30: Quiz in the fireplace room
Øystein Opdal's Easter quiz for our guests is a tradition you don't want to miss!
Easter Evel 1400: Children's ski race.
A simple round with an included knowledge test to delight both young and old - everyone is a winner!
At 2030: concert with Nina Gaarden - Northern Norwegian songwriter who plays both his own and other people's songs.
The newspaper Fremover writes: “Through her songwriting, she shares stories and emotions we can relate to (…) It is quiet and atmospheric. Simply very beautiful.” We are looking forward to it!
This year we will also have Yoga every day at 4:00 PM, and we are happy to heat up the sauna. Please contact us in advance to register.
In collaboration with Jotunheimen event, we offer guided tours to Uranostind, randone courses or avalanche courses. Contact us directly for inquiries and registration. Be there in good time, and no later than March 15th.
