Autumn is perhaps the most beautiful time in the high mountains. Clear and high skies, heather in autumn colors, crisp air and a sprinkling of fresh snow on the peaks.
Tyinholmen is open for accommodation in cabins and rooms until September 29th, and we still have cabins and rooms available, both on weekdays and weekends. Here are some tips on what you can bring:
Party night with Tyinaure:
On Saturday, September 12th at 7:00 PM, we invite you to a party evening with Tyinaure on the menu!
Mr Tyin himself, Ole Skogstad, offers, among other things, shaved trout, dug trout, fillet and mousse, all made with the unique aura from Tyin.
NOK 400 per person.
Table reservation by telephone 48 08 27 22 or post@tyinholmen.no
With hiking boots:
The most beautiful mountain hikes can be had in the fall. It is still possible to climb 2000 meter peaks like Uranostind, Falketind or Galdebergtind, but it is perhaps safest to take the family-friendly and not so ambitious hikes, like Utsikten, Torshammeren or Rusteggen. On a bicycle seat:
At Tyinholmen we provide facilities for cyclists. Here you can have your bike washed, locked up at night, or have your electric bike charged. We are located along the "Mjølkevegen", and the trip along Tyin, not least from the south, is an easy and nice bike ride. Cycling enthusiasts can take the trip up the epic Tusenmeteren from Øvre Årdal, and Koldedalen is one of the finest bike rides you can take in Jotunheimen. See more here: By bike from Tyinholmen
