Top tours from Tyinholmen

Tyinholmen is the optimal starting point for summit tours to several of the most famous peaks in Jotunheimen. Falketind 2067 masl, Uranostind 2157 masl and Stølsnostind 2074 masl are very popular hiking destinations within easy reach. The mountain guiding season starts at the beginning of July and the season lasts until the end of September.

Langskavltind and Galdebergtind are also good trips for those who are hunting for peaks above 2000 metres.

Mjølkevegen and Koldedalen by bike

Mjølkevegen is one of Norway's most beautiful adventure routes by bike. It runs in beautiful mountain and sederland between Vinstra in Gudbrandsdalen, through large parts of Valdres, to Gol in Hallingdal, and Tyinholmen is a natural stop on the way.

Tyinholmen is one of several accommodation companies that have entered into a partnership for accommodation, food and guidance along the cycling route. With us you can also wash the bike and carry out simple repairs. And if you are with us first, remember to set aside time for a trip into Koldedalen. Perhaps the most beautiful detours of the Milky Way.

The panoramic tour (160 km) of Mjølkevegen starts on the Ruten i Vinstra – Lemonsjøen – Bygdin, take the bike on the M/S Bitihorn over Bygdin to Eidsbugarden – Tyinholmen – Filefjell and finish at Beitostølen.

Kongevegen over Filefjell

The 10-mile long hiking route Kongevegen over Filefjell takes you through some of the most beautiful landscapes in Norway. From the inland villages of Valdres via the high mountain on Filefjell and down to the narrow and dramatic fjord landscape in the innermost part of the Sognefjord. A journey between the parts of the country with the historic King's Road as a common thread throughout. The section between Vang and Lærdal was the most spectacular on the Bergen Royal Road. Today, the road is one of the finest road historical cultural monuments in the country.

Starting from Tyinholmen, you can choose several exciting stages. The nature experiences are spectacular.

Kongevegen has varying surfaces of gravel, grass, path and asphalt. The road can be both walked and cycled, but please be aware that the recommended cycle route in some places has a different route to the walking route.

The season for trips along Kongevegen starts in the April/May transition down in Lærdal and in Vang, while the snow disappears over Høgfjelle in late June. July and August are high season, but an autumn trip in September and October also offers great experiences.
