Pioneer route to Falketind
Tyinholmen is the natural starting point for ascents of Falketind.

The organized hikes from Tyinholmen today follow the same path as the first climbers did in 1820. The route goes straight from Koldedalshytta at the end of the road in Koldedalen and to Snøggeken (Falkebreen).
On the glacier, rods and ropes are used. Towards the wall you hit for the lowest point on the mountain ridge between Falketind and Østre Stølsnostind, where the snow reaches the highest on the glacier.
The ascent is relatively quick, with a combination of splitting/climbing at grade 2/3 - a safety rope must be used. The route almost gives itself after the first steep ascent with several nice shelves and alternative paths along a natural line up the side. At the top of the wall there is usually a scree that must be crossed, normally without major challenges. Once up, it's fine to follow the last climb up the north ridge to the top of Falketind.
Put on sold solid mountain boots, good attire - you can experience all seasons on the trip! Remember to bring plenty of food and drink.
The trip emphasizes safety and a pleasant pace and calculates around 10 - 12 hours up and down.

Uranostind

Starting from Tyinholmen, you have the best starting point for climbing Uranostind.
From the road in Koldedalen you walk in easy terrain on the marked path up to Uradalsvatnet. The river needs to be crossed on the rocks. The route is considered to be medium challenging following the route up towards the glacier on the eastern side of the pond 1518, across the glacier on the right. The route goes up the gap between the Uranostinden and the Slingsbytinden. From there, following rocks and scree straight to the main peak.
At the top you can enjoy a spectacular view, where large parts of Jotunheimen are accessible. It is very windy in the last few meters to the cairn - many therefore choose to forgo the last bit.
