In just a few years Vinjerock managed to become one of Norway's most famous rock festivals.
Located at Eidsbugarden - 3 km from Tyinholmen - The most popular rock bands in Scandinavia create an unique atmosphere combined with sports and leisure activities. Vinjerock is named after the famous poet, Aasmund Olavsson Vinje, who actually was the first settler at Eidsbugarden. He was also the one that gave Jotunheimen its present name. Vinjerock will be arranged 19 - 21st of July, 2012. Except from numerous concerts, the festival participants also have the opportunity to enjoy many activites ranging from guided hikes to beach volleyball at Jotunheimen Beach. The festival has a strong focus on food, which is characterized by excellent local produced food at reasonable prices. Tyinholmen is the natural place to stay for those who want to experience Vinjerock. We offer cabins, rooms and a dormitory. In the surrounding terrain there are also many great places to set up a tent for those who do not want to stay right in the concert arena. There is a continuous bus service between Tyinholmen and concert area.
