Hunting and fishing
Lake Tyin is an excellent choice for anglers! The mountain trouts in the lake have an average weight of ¾ kg, supreme quality, with dark red meat and silver colored skin. There are also many smaller lakes in the area which also could offer some exciting moments! The Koldedøla river which runs from the Koldedalsvannet down to lake Tyin, has over the last years become an exciting fishing river and there are reports every summer of good catches, often above 1 kilo.

Game hunt season begins September 10th. Some terrains are open to the public. Eidsbugarden fjelleiendom or Årdal fiske og jeger forening have accessible terrain in walking distance from Tyinholmen. The terrains are mainly open for grouse and rabbit hunt. To get a valid hunting license you may visit inatur For the terrain belonging to Årdal fiske og jeger forening you may buy a valid license at the sports shop in Årdal.
