Tyinholmen has an unique location in the southwestern part of Jotunheimen, at the north end of lake Tyin. Here you will find an impressive mountain panorama with countless hiking opportunities. Tyinholmen is the best starting point for hiking trips to the well known summits of Falketind and Uranostind. If you want to admire the peaks in the distance, Utsikten at Skineggen is an excellent option which is famous far beyond the Norwegian border.
The distance from Oslo is 280 km and Bergen 250 km. Estimated driving time from the two cities are about 3.5 hours along the E16. In the summer season there is a daily bus connection from Oslo and Bergen, the two major cities in Norway. In the winter season the classic Bombardier snowmobiles facilitate the transport into Jotunheimen - from Tyin to Tyinholmen and Eidsbugarden. The snowmobiles has V8 engine with a capacity of 15 passengers and have for more than 60 years provided a steady transportation into Jotunheimen. The travel into Tyinholmen is an adventure itself!
